A guided tour at the exhibition Marilena Aravantinou exclusively for the SNFCC Members! Marilena Aravantinou belongs to the cohort of creators who taught us how to see the world through the arts of theater and cinema. All of us, even the youngest, have come into contact with her work without knowing it.
Aravantinou was awarded in 1989 at the 30th Thessaloniki Film Festival for the entirety of her work as a scenographer. However, she never became equally known as a painter. The National Library of Greece presents her first retrospective exhibition, which seeks to highlight equally her significant painting work and her prolific scenographic work. Paintings from the 1940s to the 1990s are exhibited (many presented to the public for the first time), as well as sketches, photographs, and archival material from her theatrical performances and cinematic works.
The exhibition is accompanied by a 176-page color catalogue, published by the National Library of Greece, edited by Stavros Zoumboulakis. SNFCC Members benefit from a 10% discount on the original price of the catalogue.
