Getting to know Autism through Sports | Friday, April 1, 2022
On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day (April 2), students from all educational grades of special and general education will have the opportunity to participate in joint experiential activities with Special Olympics Hellas athletes, promoting the message of inclusion, equality, and equal opportunities, in an immersive manner. Through four fun activities, all children, on or off the autism spectrum, will try out adapted sporting events, dance and have lots of fun.
Familiar and beloved team sports, ensuring fair and equal participation for all!
Free from restrictions based on gender, body structure or physical strength, all students participate in skill and rhythm games that help them to freely express themselves and feel good about their body and movement. Then they play basketball or football in mixed-gender teams!
During the first part of the activity, all students participate in skill and rhythm games with hula hoops and music, by way of a challenge and preparation for the main part of the action.

Design/Implementation: Regeneration & Progress
Below is the detailed program of the activities at the SNFCC:
With the shared objective to mobilize student groups on the issue of sustainability, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) and JA Greece are joining forces to give even more students from all over Greece the opportunity to develop their ideas, skills, and talents.
In the school year 2020-2021 -a special year for both teachers and students- the School Programs of the SNFCC developed two initiatives, maintaining, and expanding, their relationship with the school community: the development of the digital platform SNFCC Class and the creation of Ideas in the Classroom, a webinars series for educators.
