Watch the live event:
The SNFCC comes aglow with thousands of festive lights, Stavros Niarchos Park is transformed into a dreamy landscape with stunning light installations, the decorated Christmas trees tower over the Agora and the SNFCC Ice Rink opens its doors, waiting for the ice-skaters to dance on it. The Fountains are dancing in the Canal while Santa is waiting to welcome every single child and give out colorful balloons.
Our meeting point is the Agora, with the Greek National Opera’s Children’s Chorus opening the show with festive tunes. Next, American conductor, composer and artistic director of the Young People’s Chorus of New York Francisco J. Núñez, along with Marina Satti’s female choir Chórεs, who will be accompanied by eight male voices and musicians, call upon all visitors to sing along with them beloved Greek and foreign songs — Christmassy or not — making up one great festive choir. This is a very special sing-along concert, held in cooperation with New York’s Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, as part of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation-Lincoln Center Agora Initiative, a collaboration that reactivates public spaces through, among others, the “Twin Agoras” at the SNFCC and at Lincoln Center. The entire event will be live-streamed at the lobby of the David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, as well as on the website, Facebook page and YouTube channel of the SNFCC & SNF.
The December 1 event will also be broadcast live by ERT2.
