A series of meetings and workshops focusing on the most important plants that evolved along with human civilization and plants of the Mediterranean diet, many of which are hosted in Stavros Niarchos Park. Participants will review the history of these plants and learn how to cultivate and use them. Join us in these workshops to learn all about sowing, transplanting, nourishing, caring and protecting your plants. At the end, we will create a beautiful productive flower bed with important endemic plants and traditional varieties.
03/03: Plant Development
Participants in this session will learn how to cultivate and care for their plants. They will gain an understanding of plant behavior and productivity, including factors such as genetic background and the environment. They will discover how plants interact with each other and other organisms. In this workshop, we will also learn about irrigation and replanting; finally, we will make a garden bed with traditional varieties.
17/03: Plant Protection
In our second session, we will be familiarized with the microcosm of the garden under the microscope. Participants will learn about prevention and how to deal with plant enemies and pests in an eco-friendly way, whether in the farm, garden or balcony. In this session, we also discuss prevention practices and eco-friendly plant protection, with opportunities for practical application in workshop plants.
31/03: The World of Plants – Review
Participants review everything they have learned about the world of plants, seeds, subsoils, care and protection, and make the final planting in our garden bed.
