Piano City Athens: Andreas Kern | Sunset Concert at the Lighthouse of the SNFCC - Εικόνα

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) is participating in the program of Piano City Athens, with a concert that will take place on Saturday, May 13, at 19.00, at the iconic venue of the Lighthouse.

The Lighthouse is located at the top of the SNFCC building and is surrounded by glass, offering panoramic 360° vistas over Athens, Piraeus and the Saronic Gulf. At around sundown, pianist Andreas Kern, the architect of Piano City®, will be giving a unique free concert, open to the public. The Lighthouse will be filled with sounds and sunset colors, and those fortunate enough to be present will be immersed in an unprecedented musical experience.

Andreas Kern
He is a soloist and chamber musician, with an extensive track record of performances across Europe, Canada, Hong Kong, China, Japan, India, and South Africa. Striving to present classical music in unusual ways, he has developed works and concert forms, which often feature unorthodox venues, or in which musicians collaborate with artists of other disciplines, such as theater and dance. Andreas Kern has also created the critically acclaimed "arte lounge" for the Franco-German TV channel Arte. He was also the architect of Piano City Berlin Festival 2010, which featured more than 100 piano performances staged in the city of Berlin over the course of a single weekend.
