Minimalist aesthetics, colorful sounds and Theremins which up until now dominated the Music Escapades section, give their place to electronic guitars, an acid electronic sound, and a rock mood. This month, groups that favor musical distortion or a surf aesthetic will give visitors to the SNFCC, unique musical experiences.
The Noise Figures duet are Athens-based and they play psych rock. Their two albums The Noise Figures (2013) and Aphelion (2015), released by Inner Ear Records, received resounding critiques in both the Greek and foreign press. George Nikas and Stamos Babaris have already toured Europe several times (most recently in April 2016, with twenty shows in ten countries) and also Greece, having appeared on stage alongside some of the most important artists and bands of modern rock music (PJ Harvey, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Growlers, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Wooden Shjips, Slowdive et al.). They have also appeared at the Greek version of the Europavox festival, as representatives of the Greek rock scene in December 2016.
