Apart from being the drummer of one of the most fascinating bands in Athens today (Baby Guru), the versatile King Elephant has his own musical aspirations and activities which could not be any more different than his band's musical style and idiom. On his first, self-titled album, released by Inner Ear, he gifted us a fresh and exotic musical cocktail, always structured around percussions, combined with a creative use of samples. Within his musical kaleidoscope, King Elephant manages to fit 'among others' jazz improvisations, African influences, psychedelia, bittersweet vocals and retro melodies. Recently, through Bandcamp, he released his latest work, available for free download. It is a mini-album of songs for imaginary ads (Music for Advertisements), which he will present for the first time in the upcoming live concert, enriching it with samples from the naturally flowing and improvised version of his inexhaustible creativity.
