Irene Skylakaki was born in Athens, Greece, in 1990. At the age of thirteen, Irene was given her first guitar and began writing and composing her own music. She released her first English-speaking album Wrong Direction in September 2012, produced by Euripides Zemenidis. Her first single In the Light was Cosmote Jumping Fish official choice for autumn 2012. In the summer of 2013, she appeared at the En Lefko Festival, Rockwave Festival and at the Garden of the Athens Concert Hall. She presented her second work, the album Before Dawn in September 2014. The album was selected by Athens Voice as the album of the year. In September 2015, Irene returned to London to chase her dream outside the narrow borders of Greece and to record her third album. There, she met Danton Supple, who among others produced Coldplay's X&Y, who undertook the production of her third album.
