A one-day conference focusing on women athletes, aiming to educate coaches, trainers, physical education teachers, parents and athletes about women’s specific physical and psychological needs during participation in athletic training programs.
According to a lot of recent research, athletic training programs that take into consideration these specific needs substantially contribute to reducing injuries, avoiding eating disorders, decreasing the percentage of dropping out of athletic programs, even as they substantially boost young girls and women’s self-confidence and acceptance of their body image.
Moreover, to mark International Women’s Day on 8 March, the factors impeding women’s access to sports will be investigated. According to published research, women face more barriers to both participation in sports and advancement in sports and coaching management.
