Teacher Webinar | Tell me a word: Language and gender stereotypes at school - Εικόνα

Unconscious biases and stereotypes are part of the reason why our efforts to foster equality, diversity and inclusion within the school environment are slowed down or failing, while words we use in our daily oral or written speech are able to consolidate them or, conversely, overturn them in the minds of children of any age. So, how can we use these words more consciously? The objective of this introductory seminar is to raise teachers’ awareness of how language used at school may become a vehicle for stereotypes and biases, or, conversely, a catalyst for positive change towards a more inclusive education.
