Culture in… Green

For high-school students

Through an interactive tour in the Stavros Niarchos Park, students will get acquainted with the special architecture and function of the different green spaces of SN Park, will also discover the range of events that have been taking place during the operation years of the SNFCC and critically view the natural landscape as a dynamic "scene" of cultural activities, artistic meetings, social dialogue and leisure routes. Through international examples of artistic use of natural public space, students are inspired by the connection between Art - Nature - Society and design and propose in working groups sight specific "green events" for that special year we are in.

Creating an Art zine

For fourth-grade to sixth-grade Primary school students and first-grade and second-grade Highschool students

School teams edit and publish their own small handmade magazine, a fanzine. The purpose of this workshop is students to get acquainted with this type of magazines, the culture of fanzine and the handmade publications and become editors, illustrators, photographers, graphic designers themselves! Using analog and digital means, children are encouraged to present SNFCC in artistic terms, to record creatively their experience from their visit, projecting through the fanzine pages their own “collective” view. The fanzine has been designed and curated by visual artist and professor at the University of Thessaly, Alexandros Psychoulis.

Creating an Art zine

For third-grade Ηighschool students and senior Ηighschool students

Students get to know the process of producing a standalone edition (one shot zine) in the form of an artbook. The main content of this artbook is the identity of each student but also the collective identity of the teenagers. By identinty, meaning the imaginary projection of one-self in the present, in this case translated in artistic terms. Who am I? The question that students will be asked to answer through their visual representations will be "who am I?" or rather "who do I feel I am?". Utilizing mainly analog means and archival material of the SNFCC, the students manage to present personal, but also group narratives in an experimental mood. They come in contact with techniques for setting up a handmade zine, special printing techniques but also with the most basic ways of bookbinding.
