On Wednesday, May 6th, the Minister of Culture, Education and Religion, Mr. Aristides Baltas, visited the construction site of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. Mr. Baltas, who was accompanied by the General Secretary, Mr. Dimitris Hasapis, was given a tour of the site and was informed by the progress of the construction works by representatives of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the SNFCC.
An official statement released by the Ministry notes, “After the tour of the SNFCC, Mr. Aristides Baltas stated, in the presence of the SNFCC representatives “I see here a composition of things that is extremely rare, if not unique. A great generosity from a foundation, an impressive selflessness and an absolutely stunning public morale.’ The Minister also characterized as impressive the 'synergy among people of different specialties, offering and knowledge on so many levels simultaneously'. This project of historical importance, as characterized by Mr. Aristides Baltas, obliges the state "not just to participate in this whole process, spearheaded by the completion of the project, but also to respect the facilitation of its completion. We will find ways to support the operation, maintenance and the dissemination in the world of possibilities offered.”
