On Saturday, February 6th, the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Alexis Tsipras visited the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). He was joined by the Minister of Culture, Mr. Aristides Baltas, and the Minister of State, Mr. Nikos Pappas. The Prime Minister was offered a guided tour to the new premises of the Greek National Opera, the National Library of Greece, as well as the Stavros Niarchos Park. During the tour the Prime Minister was updated on the construction progress of the SNFCC as this is nearing completion, as well as on the innovative architectural and technical elements of the project.
The SNFCC is the largest single gift of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, with a total budget of $831mil (€596mil). The construction of the project will be completed within the first half of 2016, and the SNFCC will then be donated to the Greek State, which will be fully responsible for its management and operation.
