Τhe 66th regular assembly of the Special Advisory Committee of the Greek State with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) took place on Monday October 3rd at 16:00 (EET).
The Foundation’s decision to make the Special Advisory Committee of the Greek State for the SNFCC meetings open to the public, via live streaming, stems from its commitment for the creation of a space that belongs to the Greek society and that promotes, as a whole, the value of transparency and the concept of accessibility.
The Committee, which convenes on a regular basis, has been formed in order to monitor the effective progress of the project and work towards its successful delivery to the Greek State, as well as towards the optimal future operation of the SNFCC.
The Special Advisory Committee met for the first time on June 29, 2007 and has since carried out 65 meetings. These meetings promote the effective partnership and cooperation between all parties involved, and are considered particularly important for the future operation of the SNFCC, as they provide participants with the opportunity to be informed on the developments of the project, exchange opinions, and manage any issues that may arise regarding the project’s operation in a timely manner.
The Committee’s meetings are attended by representatives of the SNF and the SNFCC, as well as by representatives of all the institutions and official bodies which are contributing to the implementation of the SNFCC and will have a key role in its future operation. These bodies include:
- The Office of the Prime Minister
- The Ministry of Finance
- The Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs
- The Ministry of Culture and Sports
- The Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change
- The Municipality of Kallithea
- The Greek National Opera
- The National Library of Greece
Furthermore, the Committee’s meetings are attended by representatives of the Organization “Friends and Patrons of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center”, as well as representatives of the project’s management team and contractor.
The Committee will convene on a regular basis until the official delivery of the SNFCC from the SNF to the Greek State.
