Helli Pangalou, Landscape Architect and co-designer, along with Deborah Nevins, of the Stavros Niarchos Park, and Elpidoforos Pappas, Chief Operating Officer of the SNFCC, invite us to discover the Green Roofs.
The green roofs are the natural extension of the Hill and offer an unobstructed view of the surrounding landscape of Attica. By taking a walk through the green roofs we discover the variety of their plants that respond well to the conditions of a Mediterranean hill, and we learn how they help to save energy and contribute to the area’s pleasant microclimate.
The design and construction of the Stavros Niarchos Park as an open, public space, welcoming and accessible to everyone, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and the protection of the environment, is the result of the vision of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) for the SNFCC. The SNFCC project was made possible through the exclusive donation of the SNF.
