Helli Pangalou, Landscape Architect and co-designer of Stavros Niarchos Park, along with Deborah Nevins, invites us to discover one of the most distinctive activities in the life of the Park; chess.

She talks about the history of chess, as well as its importance for landscape architecture and contemporary public parks. We learn how chess at the Stavros Niarchos Park started as an idea of the Co-President of Stavros Niarchos Foundation, Andreas Dracopoulos, and then came to life and found its place in the exquisite scenery of the Park.

The design and construction of the Stavros Niarchos Park as an open, public space, welcoming and accessible to everyone, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and the protection of the environment, is the result of the vision of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) for the SNFCC. The SNFCC project was made possible through the exclusive donation of the SNF.
