In a fictional American city in the late 1960s, Surly – a naughty squirrel – is on a hunt for anything he can eat. He finds a shop that sells nuts, and along with a group of animals from the neighboring park, decides to organize a brash heist in hopes of securing a respectable stock of peanuts for the winters to come. The film is a truly comic adventure for children and is based on the Canadian short film Surly Squirrel from 2005.
