Εικαστικό Εργαστήριο: Δημιουργώντας σπήλαια και ανακαλύπτοντας τον υπόγειο κόσμο τους - Εικόνα

Following last fall’s successful series of workshops, titled “Creating relief maps,” a new series of workshops will be held starting in January, this time around calling upon participants to translate in three dimensions topographical and plastic elements of caves. At the end of the series, participants will create their own unique relief model, aided by notes on topography and relief rendering that will be provided to them.

Workshop #1 - Caves
Using individual three-dimensional add-on elements, participants will build the cave’s form in a cutaway model made of colored pulp, eventually also adding to it decorative elements such as stalagmites, stalactites, passages, fissures and openings, water, even lava.
Sunday, Jan. 28
12.00–14.00

Workshop #2 - Underground cities
Participants in the workshop will create an underground city below the surface of the earth. The young creators will focus on creating a cutaway model that will vertically render the subsoil, depicting the rock formations, various passages, as well as certain spaces such as rooms, churches, underground pools, wells, stables and fountains.
Sunday, Feb. 11
12.00–14.00

Workshop #3 - Prehistoric animals and fossils
In this workshop, participants will focus on creating a relief cutaway model depicting part of a cave, on which they will sculpt a buried fossil or prehistoric animal that disappeared from the surface of the planet millions of years ago. Participants of this workshop will also create three-dimensional bones.
Sunday, Mar. 10
12.00–14.00

Kids Lab, National Library of Greece
