This Christmas, Stavros Niarchos Park is welcoming four light installations made by leading foreign creators (Light Piano by Arion de Munck and Mark Ridder, Submergence by Squidsoup, Halo by Venividimultiplex, Light Holders by Jonas Vorwerk) and one Greek entry (Pompe by George Nikas and Eleni Maragaki).
Taking our cue from this most luminous of holidays, we will tour the light installations and discuss each creator’s source of inspiration. We will play, experiment and create our own light structures.
Design - Implementation: Dr. Penni Hatziefstratiou Michelinaki
At the first meeting, children will take a guided tour of Submergence by Squidsoup at the Dome and Light Holders by Jonas Vowerk at the Great Lawn.
During the workshop that follows the tour, we will transform into scientists in order to experiment with materials and understand the way in which the installations have been created. Playing, we will discover how sound and music can change the color of light.
