During our spring meeting we celebrate Mother's Day, drawing inspiration from artworks that praise the mother’s symbol, such as Louise Bourgeois's famous giant spider, Maman.
Thus, we will try to approach from a mythological perspective the insect butterfly, as a symbol representing the Great Mother, the Goddess Mother, the incarnation of the world’s soul, as well as visually, through the art pieces “Butterflies” of the Dutch artist Maurits Cornelis Escher and the English, contemporary artist, Damien Hirst.
