Discovering the World of Visual Arts, inspired by the work of Jannis Psychopedis
In addition to on-wall paintings, Jannis Psychopedis has produced art in many genres, using simple materials, ready-mades and sculptural objects that articulate a unified narrative complex in three-dimensional space.
In order to understand and be able to produce objects that start out on a two-dimensional painted surface and then expand into three-dimensional space, workshop participants will experiment with a wide range of materials – from wood to textile.
Overpainted wood (natural and artificial), textiles, geometric shapes, and objects blend with different forms of painting to create harmonious, integrated pieces, through the technique of assemblage. The result? Imaginative compositions that capture the poetry of everyday life.
