EVENTS AT THE SNFCC
Carnival Events at SNFCC!Sunday / February 18 / 2018, 11.00-16.00
At SNFCC, we celebrate the carnival and invite you to our carnival events that culminate on Carnival Sunday.
On Carnival Sunday, carnival rhythms resound in the Stavros Niarchos Park, with a DJ set, Latin sounds and percussion bands.
Moreover, face-painting workshops are awaiting us at the Great Lawn and the Pine Grove for a radical makeover, while children are looking for Carnival King – Vassilias Karnavalos.
DJ Set: Panama Cardoon
The signal will be given by DJ Panama Cardoon on the Great Lawn, inviting us to dance to different kinds of tropical-tinged music: World Electronic, Global Bass, Hip Hop and Breaks.
On a musical trip from California to Mexico and from Costa Rica to Israel, Uri met Nitzan, Dvir and Itamar, and Malabi Tropical band was born.
Using accordion, charango, saxophone, guitar and a drum set as their main instruments, Malabi Tropical combines Middle Eastern melodies with energetic Latin sounds and rhythms.
The band has given more than 250 concerts since 2014 and participated in the biggest festivals across Israel. In 2016, they released their debut album: Malabi Tropical, a live performance. They constantly work with other music travelers from all over the world, adding the violin, piano, and brass to their orchestration, while describing themselves as a multicultural fiesta.
Bloco Swingueira is a percussion group performing samba reggae rhythms from Bahia, Brazil. Since its formation in 2014, the band has participated in more than 30 festivals and concerts, including the ElaiΩnas Festival, Patras Carnival, Metaxourgeio Carnival, Circus Days Festival, Athens Marathon, and more. Bloco Swingueira returns for the second year to the Great Lawn, with a music and dance show where the variety of percussion instruments and impressive dance routines make for an unprecedented audiovisual experience for all!
