Sports for everyone

"Sports for everyone”, continues in September. The SNFCC's sports activity is launched in order to encourage and support the participation of children with disabilities in sports, with the aim of enhancing their mobility and cultivating their cognitive functions.

Mini Basket

Being a team sport, basketball improves children’s social and team-working skills, while also benefitting their physical abilities. In this activity, children will have the opportunity to discover basketball through team play, while developing and enhancing their motor skills.

Mini Volley

The Olympic sport of Volleyball is an addition to the sports activities at the Outdoor Games Area of SNFCC, in the form of Mini Volley. This sport promotes the values of cooperation, teamwork and the improvement and development of abilities through the practice of the three main features of the activity: the overhand pass, the forearm pass and the underhand serve.

Artistic Gymnastics

Through artistic gymnastics, coupled with play and fun, kids get to know their bodies and their potential, whilst improving flexibility and motor coordination.

In addition, twice a month children aged 7 to 12 years will have the opportunity to experience exercises in dynamic positions such as cubes, swinging, moving on balance bases, improving further their flexibility.

Relatively unknown, pétanque is a sport that combines accuracy, coordination and concentration. Competitors, playing either one on one or in teams, try to get as close as possible to a target, by throwing boules.

An entertaining activity with games specially designed for the whole family. Parents and adult chaperones are encouraged to play and collaborate with their children in the Park, sharing their educational stimuli and developing their imagination.

Chess is much more than a board game. It is decoded thoughts, actions and methods. It is based on mathematics and psychology, while the element of luck has no bearing upon the outcome. Chess gives players the opportunity to hone their skills in observation, concentration and the ability to predict their opponent’s moves. Most of all, however, chess players learn to show respect.
