70.000 people visited the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) during the festive long weekend of 17-19 February, celebrating the Carnival & Koulouma at the Stavros Niarchos Park.
Only a few days before the anniversary of one year from its delivery to the Greek State, and less than two years from the start of its operation, the SNFCC has already been established as a landmark and celebratory meeting point for Athens.
At the peak of the Carnival events, on 18/02, the Stavros Niarchos Park welcomed Latin sounds from the DJ Panama Cardoon, Bloco Swingueira and Malabi Tropical whereas on Ash Monday the Stavros Niarchos Park was filled with the traditional rythms of Vasiliki Karakosta.
Kites, traditional customs and games for young and older people were also part of the three-days celebration. All the SNFCC carnival events were free and open to all, thanks to an exclusive grant of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
