The SNFCC’s School Programs invite students on September 27 to a celebration on the occasion of the European School Sports Day! School groups from schools of general and special education, of all educational levels, will have the opportunity to participate in sports activities and thus coexist and interact with their peers through sport. All school programs were designed and are made available free of charge through a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

Baskin & Goal Ball

For all grades, General and Special Education

The inclusive sport Baskin is a variation of basketball for people with and without disabilities. The teams’ players acquire their roles and each team works together harmoniously, aiming at fair play and dominance over the opponent. Players try to pass the ball to the goal of the opposite team by throwing the ball with their hands. All players wear eye masks to ensure equitability between those who have and those who don’t have vision impairment. Goal Ball is a Paralympic sport specially designed for athletes with visual impairment. It was developed after World War II to help veterans who lost their vision during the war.
