From Monday, 22 June, the Stavros Niarchos Park is once again open to everyone, without the need for advance online booking, but in strict compliance with all appropriate safety measures.

From the 5th of June and for two weeks, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) implemented a dedicated plan, which was approved by the Infectious Disease Specialist Committee of the Greek Ministry of Health’s General Secretariat for Public Health. The plan followed the practices adopted by all venues with high visitor numbers both in Greece and internationally, and included, at its first stage, entry by advance online booking. The public responded positively, demonstrating an exemplary sense of personal responsibility, thus the first two weeks of our re-opening ran smoothly and without any problems.

Global developments and the gradual return of the country to normality, in combination with the diligence demonstrated by our visitors in complying with the safety measures in place, allow us to move on to the second stage of our plan. We are now optimistic and we can gradually revert to the regular operation of the Stavros Niarchos Park and our open-air spaces, so that visitors may arrive without needing to book in advance.

Our primary concern, aside from providing an excellent visitor experience, is to protect the health of our visitors and our staff. We implemented and continue to operate in strict compliance with the protection and social distancing measures and regulations issued by the Hellenic National Public Health Organization.

In addition, our staff and security personnel will be present both within the Park and at all entry and exit points, in order to discourage overcrowding. At the same time, we are systematically monitoring the number of visitors within the Park and, in the event that overcrowding occurs, no new visitors will be admitted, nor will there be the option to queue for entry.

It goes without saying that we are keeping a keen eye on developments and, with the knowledge and experience we gained over the past few months, we are prepared to adapt our operation accordingly.

Compliance with personal hygiene and protection measures, individually and collectively, is an integral part of the SNFCC’s smooth operation. We therefore kindly ask all our visitors to use the hand sanitizers that are available at our facilities, maintain the required distances, and wear a mask, where necessary.

The SNFCC is once again open and accessible to everyone, ready to welcome its visitors, but safely, in compliance with all hygiene regulations and protection protocols against the spread of COVID-19. We are confident that our visitors will support us, yet again, in our effort to protect the health of all of us, in one of the most popular public spaces in Athens.
