Τhe prominent US magazine “Archaeology” has included the archaeological findings that were found during the construction of the SNFCC at the 10 most important archaeological discoveries of 2016.

Specifically a large ancient cemetery was revealed, parts of which had been excavated before, by the Greek Archaeological Service at the beginning of the last century. The cemetery was used for a large period of time, spanning almost three centuries, from the late 8th to the early 5th century BC. Its size, density and long period of use, favorably point to its characterization as one of the most significant necropolis in Attica during the Archaic Period.
