On Saturday November 30, about 40.000 visitors of all ages watched the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) Christmas World coming alive through a literally dazzling show!
Thousands of Christmas lights twinkled on trees along the Canal; the lavishly decorated, tall Christmas trees at the Agora were revealed in all their glory; the Ice Rink picked up the tempo with skaters gliding in a festive mood, while the Canal’s Dancing Fountains enchanted us with two new Christmas choreographies: “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” by Johnny Mathis και “Waltz of the Flowers” from Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker, that will be presented daily throughout the festive period.
All these, put together a spectacular Christmas setting; a big celebration in which the GNO Children’s Choir participated with beloved, festive sounds and the soul queen Idra Kayne set the festive tone through her ultimate Christmas live concert.
Once again this Christmas, four new light installations by leading artists, presented for the first time in Greece, at the SNFCC, turn the Stavros Niarchos Park into a dream-like scenery of light and sound that will dazzle young and old visitors.
December is a month of festivities; every day, various Christmas events and activities will take place at the SNFCC, and the big celebration will take off at the SNFCC New Year’s Eve big and spectacular party!
The SNFCC Christmas World comes alive once again this year thanks to an exclusive grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
