JANUARY 2022 SEMINAR
Ideas in the Classroom: “The SNFCC Students’ Agora in the Classroom: Inclusive School – Becoming aware of, and familiarized with, diversity”
According to the World Health Organization, more than 14% of the world’s population are people with disabilities. The World Report on Disability reveals that society’s negative attitude is the most persistent adversary for more than one billion people.
In Greece, only 15% of children with disabilities go to school. Focusing on the role and importance of school, the Association of Social Responsibility for Children and Youth (SKEP) presents its Ministry of Education-approved Disability Awareness Educational Programs, aiming at ensuring a smooth coexistence in a society that is constantly evolving and changing.
The online workshop will focus on the importance of diversity in the school context, and on promoting accessibility and inclusive education, aiming at the creation of a school for all children. Through proposed experiential activities, books, videos and movies, teachers will come into contact with media that promote coexistence, empathy and acceptance.
The online meeting will take place on:
