Using air-drying clay, which won’t require firing, participants will produce a series of sculptural elements inspired by George Zongolopoulos’ monumental figurative sculptures, including Alexander, Poseidon, Zalongo.
After studying the anatomy and form of these artworks, we will go through every step in the process of producing a sculpture of our own: casting, armature construction, reinforcement with insulating material, meticulous modelling, to illustrate and experience how the artist worked on his monumental sculptures.
Taking Zongolopoulos’ artworks as a point of departure, each participant will use a number of elements to produce their own composition and visualize its dynamics in public space.
