The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) live concerts series #snfccAtHome: music continues on Saturday 02/05, 21.00 at the SNFCC Lighthouse, with Stavros Lantsias. In the new online music series #snfccAtHome: music, acclaimed artists present solo concerts in live broadcast from iconic spaces of the SNFCC, without the presence of an audience.

Theodore inaugurated the new series on Saturday, April 25, receiving excellent reviews.

The distinguished pianist and composer Stavros Lantsias will perform, in live broadcast from the SNFCC Lighthouse, some of his own works, like the Waltz of the Eyes and the Death of the Bull, as well as arrangements of pieces by Chopin and M. Hadjidakis.

One of his most important projects is "Human Touch", a group he has formed more than 20 years ago with long time collaborators David Lynch (saxophone) and Yiotis Kiourtsoglou (electric bass). Human Touch have performed Lantsia's compositions with great success. The group has also performed at the SNFCC in November 2017, as part of the concert series Jazz Chronicles, while Stavros Lantsias has performed with the Petros Klampanis Group at the same concert series in December 2016.

A multifaceted artist with a strong music education, Stavros Lantsias studied classical piano in Nicosia, continuing his studies in Boston, at Berklee College of Music, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Arranging. After Berklee he continued his jazz piano and improvisation studies with the highly respected educator and jazz guru Charlie Banacos. He has received the "Count Basie Jazz Masters Award for pianists 1989" and the "Quincy Jones Jazz Masters Award for arrangers 1990".

After his return to Athens, he worked as an arranger and pianist in television and theater, while having a constant presence in Greek discography. Stavros Lantsias has collaborated with some of Greece’s most acclaimed artists, such as Dionysis Savvopoulos, Nikos Xidakis, Elli Paspala, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Haris Alexiou, and George Dalaras.
