Music Escapades presents Plastic Flowers – George Samaras’ personal Dream-Pop act, who contribute their intense lo-fi aesthetics and colorful sounds to the alternative contemporary Greek music scene.
At SNFCC, George Samaras presents an overview of his releases in a minimalist set. On stage with him, Filip Raskovic on synth and percussion.
Plastic Flowers started in 2011, and Evergreen, their first LP album, was released in 2014, bringing to the fore the pop side of the band.
The period between 2016 and 2018 was prolific for Samaras, who released two more albums and two EPs, recorded by him exclusively in various small music venues in London. The follow-up to Evergreen, Heavenly ventures further into Dream-Pop trails, while his new album, Absent Forever, marks a darker approach by the Greek artist.
George returns in 2018, with a series of live performances in Greece and other European countries, as well as the release of another jazz-tinged EP. Featured in USA Today, Noisey, Clash, Earmilk, Exclaim, he has built a large online following as part of an international shoegaze community that continues to flourish through home-made recordings and the DIY culture.
