Members' pre-registration: The city and the city

The Greek National Opera Alternative Stage in collaboration with Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, present from the Panoramic Steps of SNFCC the installation – feature film, of Christos Passalis and Syllas Tzoumerkas, The city and the city, on the context of a tribute to the 2021 bicentennial of the Greek Revolution.

Six episodes from the life and perils of the Jewish community of Thessaloniki and the image of the city as it is today, create a multi-character narration where two cities co-exist in the same frame: the city of Thessaloniki of the previous century and the city in its present state. An installation co-created by theatre and film directors Christos Passalis and Syllas Tzoumerkas, born both in Thessaloniki in 1978 and returning creatively to their hometown for the first time. A film project that blurs the lines between fiction, documentary and essay film, presented now, for the first time ever, as a visual installation with three screens broadcasting simultaneously.

With the support of MOMus, Claims Conference, EKOME, Deutsch-Griechischer Zukunftsfonds, Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung – Office in Greece, the Region of Central Macedonia and the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki, and the collaboration of the Municipality of Thermaikos and the Athens Film Office.

Pre-registration is available in advance for our Members

* Pre-registration links are provided to Members via the SNFCC Members Newsletter.

* Pre-registration starts on Tuesday 29/06 at 10.00 for SNFCC Members.

* For their comfort, audience members are advised to bring along a beach mat or throw to sit on. 

 Important information:

• Doors open at 20.30.
• Visitors are advised to be at the location 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the event.
• Entrance will be possible up to 10 minutes before the event's commencement.
• Pre-registration is required for both adults and children. No order of priority will be available on-site.
• All SNFCC areas are accessible to people with disabilities.

The use of face mask and social distancing measures are mandatory in indoor and outdoor areas of the SNFCC, in accordance with Hellenic National Public Health Organization regulations.
