European Mobility Week 2020

Zero-emission mobility for all

The theme of this year’s European Mobility Week expresses the ambitious goal of establishing a carbon neutral Europe by 2050, as announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von de Leyen. With that in mind, our Mobility Actions for this year’s European Mobility Week pertain to all modes of transportation: cycling, walking, and public transport. Our motto this year is: “Move responsibly!”.

Walk and cycle with us

Walking is a wonderful way to discover our city anew, as well as to bring gentle exercise into our everyday lives. For longer distances, cycling is the ideal means of getting around.

This year, the SNFCC’s walking and cycling routes aim to show us how much we could discover during a ninety-minute walk, or a two-hour bicycle ride, and how easy it actually is to travel long distances in an environmentally friendly way.

Our walking routes around the SNFCC include historical information, as well as a presentation of opportunities for sustainable development.

Side activities

The SNFCC’s shuttle buses take part in EMW

Public transport, such as buses, are one of the most eco-friendly ways of moving around the city. By carrying a much larger number of passengers than a private car, they make a significant contribution in reducing emissions, as well as road traffic.

The SNFCC’s shuttle buses are a green, cheap and practical way to visit the SNFCC. And this year, our buses demonstrate this role by taking part in EMW!

Bike in the city

During EMW, and running alongside its special themed events, the SNFCC will also present, through its YouTube channel and Facebook page, a daily mini-series of videos filmed on its premises, on the subject of urban cycling.

Due to public health measures, there may be changes regarding either the staging of the event, or the maximum number of participants.
