Watch the live event:

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, on Monday, March 8, at 18:30, the Sports Excellence Center, which operates under the scientific supervision of the 1st Orthopedic Clinic of the Medical school of Athens, in partnership with Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, presents a panel discussion of the topic “Women, cancer and sports” at the SNFCC Book Tower.

The discussion will be dedicated to all women, but even more so to those who have battled with cancer. It will be led by female athletes who have survived cancer and who will share their personal experiences to illustrate the value of sports and its positive impact in their lives after their battle with cancer. In addition, academics from the medical field will join the panel to impart invaluable advice for all women, and substantiate the significance of early detection, as well as the importance of exercise in the everyday lives of contemporary women.

The event is coordinated by the “Regeneration & Progress” NGO and realized thanks to a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
