Creative Embroidery: Eminent personalities - April - Εικόνα

On the occasion of 2021, a landmark year for Greece, the creative embroidery workshop draws its inspiration from people whose actions and work changed the course of history and left an indelible mark upon our society.

We will embroider personalities from the realms of science, politics, literature and the arts. Beginning from the materials and preparatory work required to get started with embroidery, we will move on to learning the basic techniques that we will use in order to complete our handiwork. The purpose of the workshop is to initiate each participant into the creative world of embroidery, and to have them create, by the end of the workshop, their own embroidery of an historical figure.

The workshop is suitable for complete beginners, as well as for those who would like to try embroidering something new.

In April’s workshop, we will pay tribute to Rachel Louise Carson an American marine biologist, environmentalist and author. She is credited with advancing the global environment movement through her books, most notably Silent Spring, which were among the first to warn of the dangers of environmental pollution.
