Εικαστικό για το εργαστήριο Bauhaus για οικογένειες

In January, SNFCC’s collaboration with Goethe-Institut Athen, in view of the 100-year anniversary of the Bauhaus School, continues through talks, screenings and art workshops for children and adults.

“Bauhaus at 100” explores the legacy of the 20th century’s most iconic art & design school in the fields of architecture, industrial design, the arts, dance and education.

Bauhaus Things – Material Exercises

The goal of the Bauhaus School was the education of a new type of artist, who would create works both in the field of industrial design and architecture. Students in the preliminary course at the Bauhaus were taught about the use of different materials, along with the basic principles of design.

In this new Bauhaus workshop, participants are encouraged to practice on paper folding using coloured paper of different thickness. Through this process, they explore the properties of paper, its possible forms, and the stability created by folding. Furthermore, they experiment with a range of different materials, thus discovering the answers to the following questions: Can we identify the materials through touch? How can we combine them in order to create new objects?
