At the beginning of the last century, when Jazz was spreading in America, freedom and modernity were the key features of it; causing skepticism and reaction by some conservative circles. Nevertheless, along the way, jazz has not only entered the realm of religion, but has even become a part of religious functions while some jazz masterpieces have been inspired by the relationship of humans with the Divine.
On the occasion of the Sacred Jazz concert of the Voyage Jazz Group, the journalist/music producer Jacques Samuel will give a brief lecture on the world of Duke Ellington, exclusively for the Members of the SNFCC.
At the end of the lecture, the public concert “Sacred Jazz” of the Voyage Jazz Group will take place in the Lighthouse.
