SNFCC Youth Council - Open Call

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) is announcing an Open Call to young people, aged 18 to 25, who are interested in cultural programming and production, with the aim of creating the SNFCC Youth Council, a creative team of 20 people, responsible for the preparation of an independent program of events that will be part of SNFCC’s annual programming.

The creation of the SNFCC Youth Council, which is realized thanks to a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), aims to strengthen the practical involvement of young people in the creation and production of events that are directly relevant to them, while at the same time these programs will be in an open dialogue with the interests of their generation.

At the heart of this new SNFCC initiative lies the vision to provide opportunities and practical support for young people to plan and then implement actions that will be directly linked to their interests and concerns.

Trough the creation of the SNFCC Youth Council, the SNFCC is approaching the conception, curation and production of cultural events in the direction of the inclusion and participation of people from different cultural and social backgrounds. As in all aspects of its operation and activity, the SNFCC aims to offer equitable opportunities of participation to all young people, regardless of their nationality or ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, educational background, gender, or other elements of their personal identity.

The SNFCC Youth Council will benefit from guidance by the SNFCC Programming and Production team, who will, however, not interfere in the content and implementation of the Council’s events, as well as from the infrastructure and tools necessary to carry them out.

More specifically, the SNFCC Youth Council will offer:

• Practical training in the entire range of programming and production activities, and familiarization with the project management involved in different event formats, such as musical events, theatrical performances, exhibitions, sporting events, workshops, etc. Indicatively: event planning, budgeting, production execution.
• Mentoring by members of the SNFCC Programming and Production team through meetings.
• Training program exclusively for members of the SNFCC Youth Council, which will include, among other things, workshops, lectures, meetings with industry professionals, and screenings.
• Attendance of selected SNFCC programs and events, as well as participation in visits to other venues and organizations of the industry.

The SNFCC Youth Council will meet twice a month at the SNFCC, while once a month there will be a training activity organized specifically for its members. Participation in the meetings is mandatory.
