As part of its Faces of the Hero themed series of events, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center presents, on Thursday, 4 February, at 18:30, a lecture by Marina Lambraki-Plaka entitled Faces of the Hero: Uomini Famosi in the Italian Renaissance - Humanists and Artists. The emeritus professor of Art History and Director of the National Gallery will talk about the “heroes” of the Italian Renaissance, who were none other than the intellectuals – ancient Greeks as well as contemporary humanists, and with the artists as contenders to join this Hall of Fame.
