Kathimerini's GK magazine features an interview with Andreas Dracopoulos and an extensive presentation of the SNFCC - Εικόνα

In this series of workshops for our younger friends, Takis’ art becomes an important tool for education as well as their mental and emotional development!

The activities are transformed into an organized game of direct observation, recognition, touch, smell, hearing and movement, which provides participants with experiences that are both enjoyable and re-creative. Encouraged by their accompanying adult, each child develops the image of their body and senses individually. They understand and appreciate the environment and the outdoor sculptures, observe them, and draw on them for information.

For children aged 2–4 and their accompanying adults
Up to 30 participants (15 children & 15 accompanying adults)

Design - Implementation: Eirini Persidou | Art Historian | Head of Educational Programmes, Takis Foundation - KETE

“Paths of many colours”

The red of fire, the yellow of the sun, the blue of the sky: together, they form the most colourful sensory path in the whole of the SNFCC!

Small children learn to identify the primary colours and their associated emotions through Takis’ chromatic palette, through a game of matching, balancing, mimicking, of musico-kinetic and visual creation as they try things out in a natural environment which stimulates their senses in a variety of ways. The toddlers use safe, soft materials and collage, printing, dripping and spontaneous movement techniques to create coloured motifs like those the sculptor uses in his Wind Sculptures.

“Dancing shapes"

Look up at the sky! Colourful shapes dancing!

Taking the geometric forms of Takis’ sculptures as their inspiration and starting point, our young visitors are drawn into our most imaginative multisensory workshop! The aim is for them to first discover and get to know the sculptures’ geometric shapes through games of excavation and mystery, and then to give them movement, rhythm and colour! The line that sometimes forms a circle, triangle or square and sometimes a spiral attracts the children’s attention and transports them experientially into Takis’ magical world.

“Next stop: Planet Takis”

Under the blue sky and beside the green trees stand the strangest flowers! You might even call them ‘galactic’! Made out of gears, crap iron, wheels, propellers and screws.

Takis’ 'Flowers' sculptures provide the material for the most imaginative sensory education workshop of them all. Through storytelling, theatre games and artistic creation, participants embark on an intergalactic voyage. Their destination is Planet Takis, and they will discover the Greek artist’s contemporary sculpture along the way in the most playful manner imaginable.

"The orchestra of the circle!"

What sound does the circle make? And how can we play music with him? If we could paint the music, would it be round? On the occasion of Takis Spheres, we compose the most original music orchestra with a variety of spherical percussion instruments.
We recognize the shape of the circle in our body and in the environment, and through games of movement, imitation, dance and music, we come in contact with the basic principles of C. Orff music-motor education.
Body percussion, rhythmic games of intensity, duration, memory and height pleasantly introduce the participants to the magical world of music and creation.
In the end, the little musicians will make their own mini instrument with recyclable materials!
