Special Education Students’ Tournament

Τhe Sports Excellence Center, which operates under the scientific supervision of the 1st Orthopedic Clinic of the Medical school of Athens, in partnership with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), is organizing a Special Education Students’ Tournament this June, at the SNFCC’s Outdoor Games Area. 

The Special Education Students’ Tournament includes three sports: Boccia for special education primary school students, Basketball for special education lower secondary schools, and Football for special education upper secondary schools and Special Vocational Education and Training Workshops (EEEEK). The students and schools taking part in the Special Education Students’ Tournament responded to an Open Call for Participation issued by the Sports Excellence Center (SE), with the ultimate aim of introducing special education students to sports through adapted physical activities, as well as fostering interaction between them in a safe and protected environment. 

The Special Education Students’ Tournament is realized under the coordination of the “Regeneration & Progress” NGO, thanks to an exclusive grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

The use of face mask and social distancing measures are mandatory in indoor and outdoor areas of the SNFCC, in accordance with Hellenic National Public Health Organization regulations.

Due to public health measures, there may be changes regarding either the staging of the event, or the maximum number of participants.
