In July, the SNFCC Book Club will be discussing a representative piece of noir fiction by the master of the genre, Georges Simenon: the novel Liberty Bar. On Monday, July 25, Book Club facilitator Krystalli Glyniadaki will meet with book lovers at the Mediterranean Garden, to share experiences, emotions and ideas, as well as to exchange views, based on the book of the month. In July, the Teens Book Club will meet at the Mediterranean Garden, facilitated for this time only by Pinelopi Theodorakakou. The book we will be reading together this month is Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time. Thirty Book Club members aged 12 to 16 will be inspired by this delightful sci-fi young adult novel to discover more worlds that are waiting to be conjured by the readers themselves, i.e. us.
In July, the Cultural Center’s Children’s Book Club will be meeting at the Mediterranean Garden to discuss Filippos Mandilaras’s Who stole the apple of discord? A fascinating book of mystery set in the world of Greek mythology. On Wednesday, July 27, young readers will meet with Book Club facilitator Artemis Manou to share impressions, feelings and thoughts, as well as to embark on an imaginary journey, sparked by the book of the month, into the fascinating worlds emerging from its pages.
