On Sunday, October 24, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), in collaboration with the Hellenic Radio-Sailing Division, is holding a competition for RC sailboats Marblehead class in the SNFCC Canal.

The public will have the opportunity to watch a real miniature sailing boat race, with vessels constructed by sailboat modelists.

Thus, the Canal will be transformed for a few hours into a small ocean of miniature sailboats. Remote-Controlled Sailing, or Radio Sailing, features all the characteristics of triangle sailing with the essential difference that the skippers do not board the boats but rather steer them from a distance using a remote control.

The Marblehead class is recognized by World Sailing, the international sailing federation. The boats have a total length of 1.3 meters and a maximum height of nearly 3 meters from the keel to the top of the mast. They exclusively use wind for their movement, are made of high-tech materials and, following the latest trends in shipbuilding design, are considered the most exciting class for fans of the genre.
