On Wednesday, January 25, the Sports Excellence Center of the 1st Department of Orthopedic Surgery of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UOA) Medical School, in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), present a discussion titled, “Outdoor Activities: Information and Training on Safety and First Aid Issues,” at the National Library of Greece (NLG) Book Castle at the SNFCC.
The discussion aims to inform attendants about the smooth and proper conduct of outdoor activities. Climbing, hiking, mountaineering, water sports, and more broadly any group activity in the countryside, will be part of the issues addressed. At the same time, the discussion will place particular emphasis on safety and first aid issues that need to be taken into account at all stages of preparing for, and conducting, outdoor activities by both trainers and trainees of all levels of physical condition. The discussion will be interactive, engaging everyone present, and is aimed at climbers, hikers, mountaineers, coaches, teachers, parents, and children.
