Modern Calligraphy for adults: Journaling Creative Workshops

How can a dotted notebook prove quite useful and help us change our daily lives? In the new three-month-long round of workshops exclusively for Members, we will become acquainted with modern calligraphy and, more specifically, with the philosophy of Journaling. We will talk about how this technique can be both practical and creative, while also serving as a tool for decompression and relaxation.

The workshops are open to adults with or without previous experience in modern calligraphy. But participants are encouraged to attend all three workshops of the cycle for optimal results! First-time participants in the workshops will be provided with notebooks.

Introduction to Journaling: Scrapbooking techniques

During our third meeting, we will see how we can decorate our journal so that it may double as an art journal. We will play with letters (lettering) and, in getting creative for our scrapbooking, we will learn about the collage technique, which utilizes clippings that we all have at home.

Members are encouraged to bring along clippings from magazines or old books to use in their creations.

Introduction to Journaling: Learning basic writing techniques

During our second meeting, we will learn how to make our journal not only practical but also aesthetically pleasing. We will practice three different techniques of “everyday” writing, print letters, single strokes, and multiple strokes, which can be employed at all times to improve our handwriting.

Introduction to Journaling: Creating our personal journal for the new year

During our first meeting, we will be introduced to Journaling and discuss all the ways in which it can be useful to us in our daily lives. We will create our personal journal for 2023 from scratch and adapt it to our needs.
