A few words about Andreas Vourloumis:

Born in Patras in 1910, Andreas Vourloumis was one of the most characteristic but low-key representatives of Greek painting of the second half of the 20th century. A figurative painter, shaped under the influence of impressionism and wary of the teachings of modernism, he was almost exclusively interested in the Attic space. He painted Athens and its people on canvas and paper, focusing on urban housing. He also painted Lycabettus and Hymettus, the neighborhood of Pangrati and the center of Athens, as well as the suburbs Kifissia and Holargos, and the unique landscape of Aegina. Simply put, Vourloumis captured in his work the places where he lived, the places that made up his everyday life, while at the same time offering us the sensitivity of his gaze. Andreas Vourloumis died in Athens in August 1999, while his second retrospective was being prepared at the Benaki Museum to finally open its doors to the public in December of that year.
