Louise Bourgeois, Maman | Contemporary Art Installation: A collaboration between NEON & the SNFCC

Louise Bourgeois's monumental sculpture Maman (1999) is brought to the Greek public by NEON and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). This iconic giant spider — one of the works that made the artist internationally famous — will be on display at SNFCC’s Esplanade for a seven-month period, with free entry to the public.

The SNFCC will be running  a series of art workshopseducational and school programs and tours inspired by the emblematic sculpture of the big Spider, Maman, by Louise Bourgeois, for both children and adults in the context of the exhibition.

School programs based on the visual installation “Maman”

The school programs about Louise Bourgeois’s sculpture Maman at the SNFCC are inspired by the autobiographical tone permeating the artist’s oeuvre.

Following Bourgeois’s visual journey, from childhood to her youth and on to her maturity, the workshops incorporate a number of artistic practices employed by the artist over the course of each respective period of her life.
