Look, Listen, Think & Imagine - April - Εικόνα

Short fiction documentaries / art program for kids

In April, the new short “documentaries” series entitled Look, Listen, Think & Imagine by Vlefaro live cinema, continues. Reality and fiction come together to give creative answers to everyday questions, inspired by true questions asked by children.

The purpose of these videos, in addition to inspiring, entertaining and providing learning opportunities for children, is to familiarize them with the process of creative thinking, connotations, dreams and, by extension, art and poetry. Children are invited to create their own works of art, often without being shown how, and following therefore, a reverse approach to the one usually adopted by creative workshops.

Paintings, photographs, animated images and original melodies are enlisted to set in motion an unusual animated encyclopaedia, which uses information as the launchpad to create something new. Each time, children are presented with a description of the theme, a piece of research, real and fictional data, famous works of art and connotations that arise from the particular episode’s concept. Then, they are free to choose the media they wish to use in order to create their own original artworks.

In April, we are looking into stories that are well hidden into history.

We combine them with imaginary narratives and scenarios, presenting another series of fiction documentaries, full of ideas and images, leading us to the creation of unique artwork.

Human, culture, art and science evolution are full of answers. However, we find leads raising more questions about everyday life. When was the first wig invented? Why Do Witches Ride Brooms? and not umbrellas?
What happens when we dream? How many shapes did the Earth change before scientists came to its spherical truth?

Where does the myth end and where does reality begin?

Let's explore the world together.

Episode 5 | The first wigs and other hairy stories

In the old days, hairy people were considered strong. Thus, those who were not endowed with much hair had to become wig fanatics.
Marie Antoinette, Julius Caesar, Andy Warhol, and many others would not go anywhere without their wig.

Episode 6 | Witches' brooms and other flying objects.

The broom is responsible for cleanness. There is nothing more beautiful than brooming the floor and seeing it turning from dusty to clean. So the witches were definitely very good at brooming and dusting; so good that their brooms became magical! But the real magic began when they managed to make all their dreams come true.

Episode 7 | Stories about the Earth and space travels

Earth is a planet among others. It has its own spheroid figure and its own gravity to hold all the important things on it.
There is some ways to go on space, which is why spaceships have been made. Unforrtunately there is not a lot of space to carry-on our favorite items ... we need to only choose one.

Episode 8 | Why do people love pictures?

When we our eyes are open, we can see the world around us.
When they are closed, we see again but with the eyes of our imagination. And there are colors and shapes and landscapes. Somewhere in our minds, there is a box in which we can store our favorite images, either real or imaginary.
