On May Day, the Terratakia team returns to the SNFCC, calling upon parents and children to immersively discover the art of ceramics and the traditional customs of May Day: All together, we will create May Day wreaths made of clay and color, and decorate the Maypole!
During the first part of the workshop, participants will create and decorate their own May Day wreath made of clay. They will work with the technique of slab construction and handbuilding. This will be followed by a fun game of ribbons and flowers with reference to the traditional custom of the Maypole, in the Mediterranean Garden of Stavros Niarchos Park.
The ceramics produced during the workshops will be fired and glazed. After 10 days they will be delivered back to the SNFCC, where participants can pick them up.
